Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: How to Swim or Surf

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is an open-world game and players do get to explore the vast world map of Paldea. As there are different regions on the map, there are also some islands that are surrounded by water and you cannot get to them unless you have the ability to swim.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to Swim or Surf in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Swimming

As players start the game, they’ll have a Koraidon if they are playing the Scarlet version of the game or they will have Miraidon if they are playing the Violet version of the game. These are the mounts that players will use to travel in Paldea. At the start, they can only ride it and go to the places that require their attention but as they progress through the game, they’ll have to go to the other regions where they have to cross the water. To cross the water, they need to swim or surf on it and they can only do it by getting the swimming ability.

The Swim ability is only available if the players defeated the specific Titan in the game. The Titan that they need to defeat in the game to get the Swimming ability is the Open Sky Titan who is the second Titan in the Path of Legends story. Players can find this Titan on the Western side of Paldea. Players can play through any order but if the players are playing from the lowest level to the highest, then it would be the second Titan they faced. The name of Open Sky Titan is Bombardier and its level is 19. This Titan is a Flying and Dark-Type Pokemon which can be easily defeated by the Electric_Type Pokemon or Rock-Type Pokemon.

So, if you have leveled up Pikachu enough or have Bonsly caught, then use one of these Pokemons to defeat the Bombirdier and you’ll get the Swimming ability for your mount. After that, when you go into the water, your mount will start to swim and you can easily go to the distant islands in Paldea.
